Dit - CB - Shadower build

Post  Spaztaztic on Wed Dec 09, 2009 4:20 pm

Right, this might seem a bit wordy, but we do seem to have a lot of dits/ cbs in the guild, so i'll post what i did.

Lvl 30 - Bandit Build
30 - 30 1 Haste (1)
31 - 36 3 Haste (19)
37 - 37 1 Haste (Max) + 2 Dagger Mastery (2)
41 - 41 3 Dagger Mastery (5)
42 - 42 3 Booster (3)
43 - 43 3 Booster (6)
44 - 53 3 Savage Blow (Max)
54 - 58 3 Dagger Mastery (Max)
59 - 62 3 Booster (18)
63 - 63 2 Booster (Max) + 1 Endure (1)
64 - 69 3 Endure (19)
70 - 70 1 Endure (Max) + 2 L7 (2)

Q. Wtf? Haste first? Are you mad?
A. Yes quite possibly. Max Haste does get you more parties in CPQ and LMPQ, and for quite some time Savage Blow does less damage than Double Stab.

Q. Why Booster before Savage Blow?
A. By speeding up your dagger Booster makes Double Stab very powerful indeed. A bandits chief strength is always damage per minute (DPM) and Booster is vital for this.

Q. Why Lucky 7 instead of Steal?
A. Steal is a useless skill. All it does is take the drop you would get from killing the enemy and give it to you before killing the enemy. It doesn't increase the chance of a drop, and if an enemy does drop an item, they won't then drop another when you kill them. Lucky 7 is also useless, but it means that I can (very slowly) do the ranged bit at GPQ, which does help sometimes. If you haven't already maxed Dark Sight, do it now, you need it for Shadower.

Lvl 70 - Chief Bandit Build

Gratz on CB. Now onto the skills

70 - 70 1 Assaulter (1)
71 - 71 3 Chakra (3)
72 - 72 1 Meso Guard (1) + 1 Meso Explosion (1) + 1 Band of Thieves (1)
73 - 81 3 Band of Thieves (28)
82 - 82 2 Band of Thieves (Max) + 1 Assualter (2)
83 - 91 3 Assaulter (29)
92 - 92 1 Assaulter (Max) + 2 Meso Explosion (3)
93 - 93 2 Meso Explosion (5) + 1 Pickpocket (1)
94 - 105 2 Meso Explosion (29) + 1 Meso Guard (13)
106 - 106 1 Meso Explosion (Max) + 2 Meso Guard (15)
107 - 107 3 Meso Guard (18)
108 - 108 2 Meso Guard (Max) + 1 Chakra (4)
109 - 120 Mix of Chakra and Pickpocket depending on taste

Q. Why max Band of Thieves before Assaulter? Assaulter is fast and does lots of damage!
A. This is entirely up to how you play. Starting with 1 Assaulter is recommended as it allows you to move freely around the map. I personally recommend Band of Thieves first, it finally allows bandits to start tackling mobs of enemies effectively and doles out a incredible amount of damage at max.

Q. Why Chakra at lvl 71? I want to start fighting properly
A. Charka is by itself not much more than a slight saving on pots, but it does unlock the vital Meso Guard. Meso Guard's importance cannot be overstated. Contrary to popular belief even at level 1 it is cheaper than training without it, and it does effectively double your HP. Without it maps like Wind Raiders would be very very risky, but MG allows CBs to train there, and train there well.

Q. Why finish with Chakra? Isn't that obsolete by now?
A. For training yes. The effort associated with attempting to find a safe place to use it means it dramatically cuts down your %/hour. There is only one reason to get it, which is for the Dojo. Chakra is very good for allowing you to restore hp between rounds, and even during them. With Chakra, I can regularly solo up to Manon.

Lvl 120 - Shadower
Congratulations on Shadower. You are now one of the rarest, and potentially most deadly, classes in MapleStory

120 - 120 1 Shadow Shifter (1) + 2 Boomerang Step (2)
121 - 123 3 Boomerang Step (11)
124 - 124 1 Venom (1) + 1 Smokeshell (1) + 1 Boomerang Step (12)
125 - 130 3 Boomerang Step (Max)
131 - 140 3 Assassinate (Max)
141 - 149 3 Shadow Shifter (28)
150 - 150 2 Shadow Shifter (Max) + 1 Taunt (1) + 1 Ninja Ambush (1)
151 - 159 3 Ninja Ambush (28)
160 - 160 2 Ninja Ambush (Max)
161 - 169 3 Smokeshell (28)
170 - 170 2 Smokeshell (Max) + 1 Venom (2)
171 - 179 3 Venom (29)
180 - 180 1 Venom (Max) + 2 Maple Warrior (2)
181 - 189 3 Maple Warrior (29)
190 - 190 1 Maple Warrior (Max) + 2 Taunt (3)
191 - 199 3 Taunt (Max)
200 - 200 3 Hero's Will (3)

Ta-daa

Q. Why?... What?...What about?
A. I have never seen a Shadower above lvl 130, so this build is entirely theoretical. I placed the skills in terms of usefulness, but it may well involve some tinkering. Personally I value Assassinate over Shadow Shifter, and hence would go for it earlier. The 1 Venom at level 124 is for training at Time Temple, which has poison weak enemies. Getting lvl 11 Boomerang Step First is worthwhile, simply because it starts hitting 3 enemies.

Q. How are you so 1337?
A. Some of us are born that way.

Anyway, feel free to comment/point out mistakes

Not a bad guide buddy, the Spaz man and I spent many a long night debating all this crap. In retrospect a lot of it came about cause we were poor hahahaha.

Hey Shun

I doubt it will be, but a lot of the tinkering happening is before your level. From what i hear cbs get shadow partner, so that will clearly be a priority - probably recommend getting it alongside BoT for 12 hit smexness

If someone can point me in the way of a post BB skill guide i will revise this, and then might start working on a DB and NW guide

Having looked a bit more at what shads are getting in BB i will definitely be revising this. For any CBs now, i think we get a bucketload of resets anyway, but I would start placing PP over chakra (due to the epic increase in ME damage) and perhaps think about incorporating greed into 4th job build (smexy 60% damage resistance with MG and greed). Steal is getting boosted from what I hear, but i still think it's a pile of crap. most of the other skills are being improved on a more or less equal level, with the exception of assassinate, which seems to do omgwtfbbq damage from what i've seen (seriously omgwtfbbq damage, saw a lvl 175 do 1.2m with one attack)
